Meet Trish

Conflict and emotional tension are part of the human experience, but they do not have to define your relationships or your sense of self. I work with individuals, couples, and families who find themselves caught in patterns of disconnection, frustration, or misunderstanding. Many of my clients come to therapy wanting to understand their triggers, communicate more effectively, and feel calmer and more connected when conflict arises.

The heart of my care philosophy is warm, positive, client-centered engagement from a strengths-based perspective. I help individuals and couples move beyond recurring emotional or relational conflict by deepening self-awareness, understanding emotional patterns, and developing skills for grounded, clear communication. Together, we transform crisis and conflict into opportunities for insight, healing, and deeper connection with the people who matter most.

Whether we are working through relationship challenges, life transitions, or emotional pain, I offer a compassionate and steady space where you can feel seen, understood, and empowered to create lasting change. My goal is to help you reconnect with your sense of calm, clarity, and confidence so you can move forward with greater ease in your relationships and your daily life.

My Approach / How I Work

My approach is warm, collaborative, and creative. I believe meaningful change happens when we feel safe enough to explore what is beneath the surface, which are the emotions, beliefs, and lived experiences that shape how we respond to ourselves and others. I draw from Emotion-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Art Therapy, integrating evidence-based strategies with expressive and experiential techniques that help clients access clarity and emotional insight.

A central part of my work is helping clients understand their emotional triggers and develop greater self-awareness, emotional mastery, and communication skills. Working with clients is a deep privilege for me. My priority and passion are to accompany people through the therapeutic process with safety, stability, and respect as they pursue meaningful transformation.

For couples, our work often focuses on understanding patterns of communication, rebuilding trust, and finding ways to stay connected when emotions run high. With individuals and adolescents, we explore boundaries, emotional regulation, and the inner strengths and capacities that support personal resilience. I view therapy as a journey toward self-understanding and connection; a process of uncovering the calm, capable, and compassionate parts of yourself that have always been there.

Background and Training

Trish has over 15 years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families through emotional and relational challenges. She is both a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and a Registered Canadian Art Therapist (RCAT), bringing a unique blend of creative, relational, and evidence-based approaches to her work.

Her career spans school counselling, community agencies, non-profit organizations, and private practice. She integrates Emotion-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Art Therapy to support insight, communication, and emotional healing. Trish is committed to ongoing professional development in trauma-informed practice, attachment theory, and therapeutic creativity, and she remains passionate about helping clients understand their emotions, strengthen their relationships, and build deeper self-awareness.

Outside the Office

Outside of counseling, Trish enjoys time with family, outdoor adventures, creative projects, and exploring the beauty of the West Coast. She finds grounding through movement, art-making, and time in nature, and these practices continue to inspire the balance and resilience she supports in her clients.

A Few Things About Me
