Maria loves her work as a school counsellor in the Langley School District working with children, youth, families, and adults to promote each person’s potential and success.
Being a counsellor is a privilege that allows Maria to walk alongside her client and offer them a safe, supportive space to be themselves, feel heard and understood. Letting each person see their uniqueness as a strength, building resiliency and love themselves is all part of Maria’s goal in supporting her client.
Maria has worked in mental health and crisis work in a multitude of ways with children, youth and adults. Her lens as a classroom teacher gave her the ability to understand all the dynamics in schools and the many needs that take place for students and families. Presently, her work as a school counsellor gives her the opportunity to use her skills and offer much needed support to the students and adults around her.
– Life is meant to awaken us and let us know that we are capable, and deserving of joy and our own happiness.
– Reaching out for support and connection is one of the ways to take care of ourselves and establish peace and fulfilment within ourselves.
Maria lives in Langley with her husband, two teenage children, and dogs.
On her time off, she will be immersed in a book, finding ways to be in nature, travelling to never before seen places, and driving her children to their various activities.
Providing virtual therapy across British Columbia and in-person therapy in Langley BC, serving Langley, Surrey, Cloverdale, South Surrey, Aldergrove, Abbotsford,Vancouver and Lower Mainland.
