Registered Clinical Counsellor

Meet Julie

Many women, young adults, adolescents, individuals and couples come to therapy feeling stretched thin, anxious, and unsure how to care for themselves while caring for everyone else. I support people navigating stress, communication challenges, and times of transition that have left them feeling disconnected or uncertain. My goal is to create a calm, supportive space where you can slow down, reflect, and begin to make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface.

Therapy becomes a space to rediscover your own wisdom, rebuild self-trust, and begin living in a way that feels calm, authentic, and whole. Whether you are an individual learning to manage anxiety, a teen building resilience, or a couple wanting to strengthen connection and understanding, our work focuses on awareness, communication, and meaningful change. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in respect for your unique story, strengths, and pace.

My Approach / How I Work

I believe therapy works best when it feels like a partnership — a relationship built on trust, safety, curiosity, and compassion. My approach is warm, relational, and practical, blending reflection with evidence-based tools that can be applied to daily life. I integrate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Gottman couples therapy to support self-awareness, emotional regulation, and stronger communication.

For adolescents, I often use creative and skills-based strategies to help them express emotions and build confidence. With adults, we may focus on easing anxiety, perfectionism, or burnout. In couples or family work, I facilitate honest, compassionate dialogue that helps each person feel seen and understood while learning to communicate more effectively. Together, we create space for clarity, connection, and growth — helping you move toward a life that feels balanced, authentic, and deeply aligned with who you a

Background and Training

I have worked in the mental-health field for more than two decades, supporting adolescents, adults, couples, and families through a wide range of emotional and relational challenges. My experience includes community agencies, health authorities, and crisis services, where I supported individuals navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, and complex family dynamics.

Being a counsellor fuels my deep-rooted compassion to support others when they may not see the light inside themselves during darker times. I will carry the light to help you connect to your own inner wisdom and strength.

My work is informed by ongoing training in CBT, DBT, IFS,  EFT, ACT and Gottman therapy, as well as extensive experience with trauma-informed and culturally responsive care. I believe that growth happens through understanding, connection, and courage — and that every person holds the capacity to heal and thrive.

Outside the Office

I live in Cloverdale with my husband and our four kids, which keeps life full and dynamic. I find grounding and renewal in nature — walking with our three dogs, spending time near the water, or connecting with family and friends. These moments remind me of the importance of presence, laughter, and perspective — values I bring into my counselling work.

A Few Things About Me

What inspires me most: seeing clients reconnect with their strength and light, realizing that healing and balance are possible even in the hardest seasons.

Reaching out for therapy takes courage, and it’s often the first step toward meaningful change. If you’re ready to begin a journey toward greater calm, connection, and confidence, I would be honoured to walk alongside you with warmth, curiosity, and care.
