Registered Clinical Counsellor / BC Association of Clinical Counsellors
I work with adults, adolescents, and first responders who feel overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected and are often carrying more than they realize. Many of my clients come to therapy exhausted from taking care of everyone else and unsure how to care for themselves. My goal is to create a safe, steady, and compassionate space where you can exhale, gain clarity, and reconnect with your inner strength.
I draw on EMDR and trauma-informed, evidence-based approaches to help you process experiences that have felt too heavy to carry alone. Together, we build practical tools to manage stress, strengthen emotional awareness, and find calm amid life’s challenges. Clients often describe me as grounded, real, and understanding as well as someone who meets them exactly where they are and helps them rediscover balance and confidence.
My approach is warm, relational, and collaborative. I believe healing begins with feeling safe and truly understood. I integrate EMDR and trauma-focused modalities with strengths-based, person-centred therapy to help you uncover the root causes of distress while also building coping strategies for everyday life.
In our sessions, we focus on developing emotional regulation, resilience, and self-compassion. For first responders and those in high-stress roles, I bring an awareness of occupational culture and the impact of cumulative trauma. My goal is to help you restore balance — mentally, emotionally, and physically — so you can reconnect with yourself and those who matter most.
Before becoming a counsellor, I spent years working as a regular member of a municipal police department, which gives me a deep understanding of the unique culture, pressures, and experiences faced by first responders. My work in the mental health field spans more than 25 years, including school settings, community agencies, and in-patient programs.
I hold a Master’s in Counselling and advanced training in EMDR, trauma-focused practice, and occupational awareness for emergency worker trauma. My approach is grounded in respect, empathy, and belief in human resilience. I see therapy as a partnership; a space where we work together to heal old wounds, strengthen self-awareness, and create lasting emotional wellbeing.
I live in Langley with my two children and our dogs, and I understand both the joys and challenges of parenting. I love spending time outdoors, hiking, being in the forest, or near the ocean. Nature is where I feel most connected and balanced. I also enjoy riding horses, reading, and spending quiet moments that allow me to recharge. These experiences remind me daily of the importance of presence, self-care, and compassion, which are values I bring into my work with clients.
What inspires me most: witnessing the moment when someone begins to trust their own strength and realize that healing and peace are truly possible.
Reaching out for support takes courage. If you’re ready to begin your journey toward healing, balance, and reconnection with yourself, your work, and your relationships. I would be honoured to walk alongside you.
