Denise comes from a client-centered, trauma informed practice serving young people and their families. Denise feels honoured and privileged to work with individuals and families, to be a part of their journey of healing and change.
Denise believes individuals and families are doing their best in this moment and she provides them with a safe space to find new ways to navigate through life, to develop new skills and rediscover their strength and resiliency.
Denise believes in empowering individuals to build on and recognize their own internal resources.
Denise has extensive experience supporting children, teens and families with mental health concerns since 2004. Denise has worked for Fraser Health in several programs over the past 19 years including experience as a clinical supervisor in the outpatient mental health programs.
Denise has worked in both community and hospital mental health settings engaging with families and youth with various mental health challenges including depression, anxiety, psychosis, complex trauma. Denise works from a culturally sensitive and trauma based lens.
Denise has worked with a multidisciplinary team within Fraser Health as well as within the community. Denise has built strong relationships with many community partners within the community.
When not at work, Denise loves to be outside, going for walks, being with family and friends. She loves being close to the beach, connecting with nature and reading.
Denise is passionate about learning and discovering new places and cultures.
