Being a counsellor fuels Julie’s deep-rooted compassion to support others when they may not see the light inside themselves during darker times. Julie will carry the flashlight to help individuals connect to their inner wisdom and strength.
Julie has extensive experience supporting families and adolescents through mental health crises, both in the hospital and community-based settings, since 1997.
Julie has spent the past two decades working for the Ministry of Children and Family Development and Fraser Health Authority. Julie has supported individuals suffering from acute mental health diagnoses, including depression, psychosis, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder and complex trauma. Her experience enables her to provide holistic, trauma-informed, culturally competent care to those she serves.
Julie has supported individuals’ unique experiences of gender, race, sexuality, spirituality and family from a holistic perspective. She has worked within multidisciplinary teams and has strong collaborative communication skills with professionals and clients.
Julie lives in Cloverdale with her husband and four teenagers. Julie understands first-hand navigating the joys and challenges of being a parent. Knowing that she is not alone in the journey of parenthood has been empowering.
You will often find Julie with her three dogs exploring nature or being near the water. Spending time outdoors or connecting with family and friends are some of the ways Julie rejuvenates her soul.
