Registered Clinical Counsellor

Meet Shannon

Change can be both a loss and an invitation — a moment to rediscover who you are becoming. I work with adults navigating significant life transitions such as separation, relocation, or new beginnings, as well as teens and children learning to adapt to change in their own lives. Many of my clients come to counselling feeling uncertain, anxious, or disconnected from their sense of stability and direction.

My approach is warm, curious, and collaborative. I create a safe, supportive space where you can explore your story, reconnect with your strengths, and learn skills to move forward with confidence. Whether you are adjusting to a new chapter in life or helping your family through change, I help you uncover clarity, courage, and self-compassion as you grow into the next version of yourself.

My Approach / How I Work

I believe that healing and growth happen through connection, curiosity, and creative exploration. My work integrates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and art-based and mindfulness practices within a trauma-informed, person-centred framework. In our sessions, we explore emotions and patterns while developing coping skills that bring balance and relief.

For adults, this often includes processing loss, redefining identity, and building confidence during times of change. For children and adolescents, therapy may involve play, art, or emotion-focused strategies to support self-expression and resilience. My goal is to help clients of all ages find strength, clarity, and calm as they navigate the transitions that shape their lives.

Background and Training

I have dedicated my career to supporting children, adolescents, and adults as they navigate life’s challenges and transitions. In addition to my private practice, I work as an elementary school counsellor in the Langley School District, where I support students and families in building connection, communication, and emotional wellbeing.

My background includes specialized training in trauma-sensitive practices, neurodiversity, and anxiety management. These experiences have shaped a counselling approach that values curiosity, compassion, and creativity as pathways to healing. Whether you are working through change, managing stress, or rediscovering yourself after a transition, I’m here to help you find stability and renewed confidence.

Outside the Office

Outside of my counselling work, I love to be outdoors — gardening, walking, and spending time near the ocean. Nature is where I feel most grounded and creative. I also enjoy time with family and friends, reading, and caring for my two cats. I value lifelong learning and curiosity, which continue to shape both my personal growth and my work as a therapist.

A Few Things About Me

What inspires me most: witnessing clients rediscover their ability to move through change with courage, curiosity, and hope.

Reaching out for support can be an act of courage and self-compassion. If you’re ready to explore your next chapter, I would be honoured to walk alongside you with warmth, curiosity, and collaboration — helping you find strength and confidence in the process of change.
